About EIU Hockey
The Eastern Illinois Hockey Team is a student ran organization (RSO) at Eastern Illinois University. We are a self-ran organization that appoints an advisor from the school to serve as our RSO advisor. Also, we appoint a coach and assistant each year. Our team is made up of experienced players that are looking to continue their hockey careers by playing collegiate hockey. Our main goal is to provide a program that can continue hockey players careers while providing a positive and a learning environment. We focus on instilling respect for the game, fans, players, coaches, and referees amongst our players. We are currently a division II team in the ACHA (American Collegiate Hockey Association) and the MACHA (Mid-America Collegiate Hockey Association) gold division. Our team prides ourselves on the ability to maintain a competitive organization year after year. While playing competitive hockey is the main focus of our team we also make it a priority that our players maintain a good academic standing. We currently play out of the David S. Palmer Arena located in Danville,IL and have on-ice practices two times a week. The days that our team is not practicing on ice we are having two days of off-ice conditioning and/or a chalk talk for the upcoming weekend. If you are interested in playing for our organization, please refer to our recruiting page or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
